People who have higher scores in the C-quadrant of their DISC graphs are more likely to follow the rules set by society and those in charge. A lower "C" score indicates a greater propensity to question authority and seek independence.
Other C-types completely understand this mentality, and when they meet another like-minded High "C," they tend to get along very well, but this can be a point of contention with the other DISC communication styles.
When engaging a high-C personality, make sure you allow them to ask many questions; this is a way of gathering information and should not be taken as though they are questioning you on a personal level.
This was why I had such a hard time interacting with this style; because, as an āIā personality, I want to be liked, and I found this challenging with a "C," as I didnāt easily win them over through conversation.
Once I knew how to adequately deliver the details and information they sought (for example, by prepping in advance before meeting with a prospect), I learned how to easily connect with my High "C" clients.
Type C's have numerous strengths that make them stand out against the other 3 DISC personality types, however, just like the others, they have their own āblind spotsā as well which can interfere with their relationships, careers, and businesses.
The High C Personality - or āCorrectiveā Communicators represent 17% of the population and are highly accurate, reserved, and systematic individuals. They are well suited for roles in operations, mathematics, engineering, science, and tech.
Question: Why is it so difficult for this personality type to talk to other people?
My Answer:
This is because this personality type is the most reserved of the four DISC personalities. If you imagine a High "C" individual waiting for an elevator, these are the types who are hoping that nobody will be in it with them when they get inside.
Similar to the High "C," the High "S" (also an introvert) also hopes to be alone in the elevator, but the difference is that in the event that somebody is in there with them, the High "S" will at least make friendly conversation if somebody engages, while a High "C" will do everything in their power to avoid further communication.
The more prominent a person's "C" score is, the more careful and analytical they are in their approach. A lower "C" score indicates a greater lack of fear in the person. This style can dive deep into the analytical nitty-gritty details of any subject they are passionate about or focused on.
High "C"s will behave passive-aggressively and seek to defend and justify their behavior.
The "C" Factor measures caution. The higher the intensity of the "C," the more cautiously and analytically an individual moves forward. The lower the "C" value, the more fearless the individual.
Behavior C Style Blend: Pure High C
Some characteristics of a "Logical Thinker/ Analytical/ Objective One" include being methodical, polite, and private.
Even though they are quiet and reserved, they are constantly examining themselves and others and may be critical of both. Because their biggest fear is criticism, they are constantly striving for perfection.
This personality blend tends to take things in and process them again. However, by learning to be a little more sensitive and flexible, "Logical Thinkers" might be perceived as being more perceptive to the feelings of others, despite their tendency to come across as cool and blunt owing to their continual analyzing.
They take their time and ask a lot of "how" and "why" questions before making a decision, as well as relying on logic and reason rather than their emotions.
Cleanliness is indicative of professionalism in the minds of a Logical Thinker, and sloppy work is not tolerated. They are the type of people who want to plot out and organize their entire lives.
Logical Thinkers thrive in a consistent setting since they are not spontaneous and are instead comfortable making little, calculated adjustments.
Their method of working, which is task-oriented, has to be directed. People that think logically have lofty goals that they constantly push themselves to achieve.
Behavior C Style Blend: High C/D Blend
People with this communication style blend are problem solvers with a strong focus on the work at hand.
They try to solve problems in a way that is creative, persistent, and logical. They avoid quick fixes in favor of long-term improvements. Their objective is to succeed where others have failed by having everything under control.
Due to their administrative prowess, designers can drive innovation and progress.
Designers sometimes become stuck in a rut and refuse to accept help because they believe they are the only ones capable of doing the job correctly. They could come out as aggressive or unyielding while under stress.
Designers should consider the feelings of those around them to create a welcoming space for everyone.
Since precision and correctness are so important to this style blend, they apply these values consistently throughout their work.
This checklist includes all of the key characteristics of the high "C" personality to help you identify these communication styles during your interactions.
